Essen’s serious clubbers congregate at Goethebunker, a World War II-era air raid bunker-turned-horse supply store-turned-nightclub. These days it houses two rooms: one with a livelier atmosphere propagated by glittering disco balls, and another with a darker mood. The club is in an industrial neighborhood that resides at the intersection of Essen’s surrounding areas, attracting club goers from many different parts of north-west Germany.
Telekom Electronic Beats’ Clubnight series arrives at Essen’s Goethebunker for a very special night with Frankfurt-based artist Roman Flügel. An exceptional artist affiliated with the famous Robert Johnson club, Flügel has earned an international following thanks to his considerable discography of original works and dance floor igniting remixes. As a DJ, Flügel’s approach is anything but conventional and nothing like the ordinary—he blends house-leaning grooves with a deep and well-cultivated record collection. Joining him on the bill for the evening are Essen locals, Ahmet Sisman and Someone Outside. RSVP on Facebook here.
